Hemp Flavoured Alcoholic Beverages Bloom From Harvest Of Cannabis Sativa L. Flowers

Although the Cannabis sativa L. plant is considered a multi-purpose crop, current production only focuses on fibre and seed yields. As a result, most of the non-stem aerial parts are neglected and considered waste products. However, a new study on C. sativa flowers may give rise to a new market in hemp flavoured alcoholic beverages. By harvesting the glandular trichomes, Italian scientists from the University of Pisa were able to produce hemp essential oil (EO) which was used to flavor beer and liquor products.
